Canning’s directorial debut short film, I Wanna Be, was accepted into the Big Apple Film Festival and New Faces New Voices. The film is based on her parents’ engagement story and explores how gender norms and expectations influence our decisions.
Canning also assistant directed the film Sorority Court, directed by Emily Draper, which is currently making its way through the short film festival circuit! More info can be found here.

Canning is the assistant director of Sorority Court, which is currently making its round on the festival circuit! It premiered at Chelsea Film Festival and has been accepted into Big Apple Film Festival as well as Oxford Shorts.

Canning is an associate producer on the short film, And Along Came Lily, a coming-of-age tale exploring female sexuality, the pleasure gap, and the female orgasm. Find out more here!
